Mind Reading

Mind Reading
'Mind Reading" was an entirely new venture for the Centre for Brain Research at The University of Auckland. We wanted to create an imaginative live event which would convey the excitement and capabilities of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, as part of Brain Awareness Week. Yet our experience is in more traditional public lectures, so this was truly breaking the mold. That's where Screentime came in. We put forward our ideas for a live brain scan event, where the audience would be taken on a journey into our central question - can we detect if someone is telling the truth or a lie? While we wanted top-notch professional quality production, we also had a minimal budget in which to do it!

Screentime were fantastic and came up with ideas for how we could generate maximum excitement and mystery, while also staying within our means. Not only did they produce five films about the science of brain imaging, but they also stage managed the final event. It was fantastic to have one company who could manage our production, so taking a lot of the stress and strains of event planning out of our hands.

The final product was not only a credit to the Centre for Brain Research and our sponsors Siemens, Auckland Museum, and the Royal Society of New Zealand, but also to Screentime. We filled our venue at the Auckland Museum to capacity, with 400 satisfied guests. And the production is now available across New Zealand thanks to a web player generated by Screentime

Our brain imaging event has exceeded our expectations and I'd say it's thanks to Screentime!"
