SCREENTIME COMMUNICATIONS AWARDED AT 43rd ANNUAL MCA-I MEDIA FESTIVAL
Screentime Communications has been awarded Silver Reels in both the Internal Communications and Writing categories of the 2012 Media Communications Association- International Golden Reels in the US for a GM’s Annual report video to staff for Coca-Cola Amatil.

The MCA-I Golden Reel Media Festival is the longest running peer reviewed non-broadcast video festival in the world and celebrates excellence in media communications.

The brief was to help Coca Cola Amatil New Zealand's Managing Director, George Adams, deliver his midyear business update to all staff. Traditionally a live roadshow around the country, he'd publicly committed to saving money by delivering 2011's message on DVD and via the company's internet video channel.

"The Late July Show with George Adams" referenced the late-night talkshow format of Letterman, Leno et al, that the audience would already be familiar with. But Executive Producer and Director, Steve King says “What would usually be a multi-camera shoot with a crew of dozens in a purpose-built studio was recorded in a restaurant after-hours in 10hrs requiring some typical #8 wire ingenuity from the production team and crew, as well as a lot of trust and enthusiasm from Coke- but the result was gold. Great fun to make and still enjoyable to watch the umpteenth time in post!”

Danielle Zinzan – Internal Communications Advisor for Coca-Cola Amatil says “Screentime were excellent to deal with and came up with a clever creative concept delivered on time and to budget.”

Each entry in the Golden Reels is reviewed by panels of industry professionals from across the US and around the world, many of who are Media Festival award winners themselves. Panels are made up of 7 judges which then submit the top-rated videos to a final Blue Ribbon panel.

The MCA-I Media Festival is one of a very few festivals that provide feedback to the entrants from the judges.
Entries are evaluated on effective use of the medium, creativity, production values and technical quality in three areas: Message Design, Creative Elements and Production Elements, and, as with many other competitions, entries do not compete against each other so there are often more than one Golden, Silver or Bronze reel in a category.
