Like, Groovy Man.
When Mel Gimblett from Soiree event creation asked us to produce graphic support to add visual impact, emotion and excitement the 2007 Bayleys Real Estate Sales Awards we thought “groovy, man”.
The initial brief was to design and create the visual support (nominees and winners graphics, Awards show titles, etc), but she also dug our idea for creation of a dynamic opening video to set the scene and theme, and freaked over our idea for announcing the big award- the Bayleys Salesperson of The Year.
First was an opening video highlighting how far Bayleys has travelled from its inception 30 years ago, while setting the (‘70s-theme) scene. Integrating still and moving images from Bayleys’ early years with recognisable, iconic still and moving ‘70s images - along with an appropriately retro and upbeat soundtrack- ensured that the audience was in the right mood, and in the right decade, right from the first minute.Screen shot of the awards graphics
Keeping things simple we created a PowerPoint 2007 show incorporating full-screen video inserts which offered the most cost-effective presentation, with flexibility of updating and playback, as well as compatibility with most PC’s. Creating all the graphics in our dedicated graphics suite- used for corporate and broadcast television production- we were able to achieve high resolution of images and text as well as a subtler colour palette than that available within PowerPoint. The benefit to Soirée was more movement on screen, more dynamic, higher resolution images, and perceived higher production values.
Finally, based on a concept we’ve successfully delivered before, the Salesperson of the year’s peers were able to praise, roast, and highlight the winner’s achievements in a memorable and entertaining 3½ minute video clip. Selected Bayleys team members were recorded and prompted with a set of questions which allowed them to paint a heartfelt and informal portrait of the big winner and how she’d achieved this year’s accolade. This clip also delivered a long-lasting souvenir of the event when supplied to the winner and her branch for viewing by other team members, family and clients on DVD and WMP clip.
By choosing Screentime to produce this important presentation Soiree were able to guarantee that Bayleys’ Awards audience was delighted by a dynamic and visually stimulating show.
