Conditions of Studio Hire
Studio Use
The hirer will take good care of the Studio and it's facilities and will ensure that suitably experienced persons use it in a skillful and proper manner. Any damage or defect to the Studio or it's facilities arising during the hiring, or any incident that occurred during the hiring likely to cause such damage or defect, will be notified to Screentime Ltd by the hirer by the end of hiring.
The hirer will not make any structural or other permanent alteration to the Studio (or its facilities) without first obtaining the consent of Screentime Ltd in writing.
The hirer agrees to be fully insured for usual film production and public liability risks. You will make available the benefit of your insurance to the owners of the Studio in respect of loss, damage, actions and claims arising from and proven to be a direct result of your use of the Studio. Additionally, the studio is open to the street, so you need to be responsible for keeping your own equipment secure at all times.
The hirer will use the Studio (and its facilities) only for their intended purpose and will not do anything in the Studio which is against the laws and regulations relating to fires, health, public safety or otherwise, or which would invalidate any policy of insurance on the Studio building or the Studio facilities.
The hirer agrees to notify Screentime Ltd prior to the booking if smoke machines or any type of special effects equipment is to be used in the Studio.
The hirer will not do, or permit to be done, in or in connection with the Studio anything that may be, or become a nuisance or annoyance to the occupiers of any other building or property in the surrounding neighbourhood.
The hirer is not permitted to sub-let the Studio or part possession with any of the equipment hired or found within.
It is a firm requirement that the scaffold is not to be used as a set structure, be used to rig lights or other equipment or be modified in any way..
The hirer will at the end of the hire period vacate the Studio and return the Studio (and its facilities) to the same good condition that it was in at the commencement of the hire period and will be responsible to see that the Studio is left locked and secure and that it is left in a safe condition.
Please be aware that the hirer is responsible for closing the roller door and making sure that the studio access door is closed properly when leaving the studio. The studio access key is to be left in the drop box located in the studio access door.
The hirer will be liable for any costs associated with repairs, service call-outs, replacement of lost or damaged equipment, necessary painting or repainting (as set out below) as required to return the Studio to the condition found at the commencement of the booking.
Access and Key
Please advise of when you wish the studio to be opened from so we can arrange for it to be unlocked and then locked up at the end of your booking. If you would like to commence a booking prior to 0830 then the studio key and access information would need to be collected at least the day before and during business hours.
Power
The Hirer will be invoiced for all electricity used in the Studio during the hire period at $0.55 p/unit. To enable the amount of electricity used to be determined, Screentime will read the Studio electricity meter at the commencement of the hire period. It is the hirer's responsibility to read the meter at the end of the hiring and note usage on booking checklist located to the left of the loading area underneath studio light switches. If this is not done Screentime will check the meter post-hire and assess the amount of electricity used and charge for it accordingly.
