This 7 part series takes a candid look behind the scenes of New Zealand’s premier racecourse and the world of thoroughbred horseracing as we follow The Auckland Racing Club’s newest and youngest Chief Executive on his quest to turn around the fortunes of the club. Over the past years the club has been losing money hand over fist. The club was not heading down the home straight- more that it was heading towards the knackers yard. The programme follows the new 36 year old Chief Executive, Chris Weaver, during the ups and downs of his first 6 months in the job. Can he succeed in turning the club from a loss maker into a profit maker? The whole of the racing industry is looking at this young man to do just that. Over the 6 months the pressure shows as the momentum builds to the climax of the all important Summer Carnival of Racing. Can he pull it off?
