Stake-Out

"MacIntyre Undercover" meets Michael Moore Hidden cameras, investigative journalism, and a crusading frontman ready to confront wrong-doing wherever he finds it – that’s Stake-Out the new show on TV3 which launched in an expose special on "Inside New Zealand" in April 2005. The show introduces Martyn "Bomber" Bradbury (former Channel Z DJ and now editor of "Rip it Up" magazine) in a completely new role. "We wanted to do something other television current affairs shows weren’t doing," Bomber explains. "And we wanted to use the technology to push the investigative envelope for younger viewers. If we can expose illegal practices, dodgy dealings or shameful behaviour then we’re going to go for it as hard as we can." "And then I confront the perpetrators red-handed." Screentime Producer John Keir describes Bomber as an exciting new face for New Zealand television. "He’s unlike every other current affairs reporter on screen. He has enormous screen presence. He’s one of the sharpest minds in the business, and he’s great at bowling up to someone, looking them straight in the eye, and saying ‘hey, bud, we snapped ya – what do you think you were doing?’" "In many ways Bomber is our kiwi Michael Moore," Keir says. "He’s not afraid to take a controversial subject and push a point of view if he thinks he’s right, He’s not intimidated by anyone. He’s perfect for a show like "Stake-Out" and a TV3 audience looking for new kinds of storytelling." The first one-hour "special" investigated a range of scams within the immigrant community – marriage for money deals and fake driver licences. The full Stake-Out series is coming soon to TV3.

'Underage Prostitution' episode gets people talking

I have watched documentaries for years, on all channels but last nite's STAKEOUT documentary on teenage prostitution has got to be the best I've ever seen.

It is heart breaking and absolutely shocking that children are being raped & solicited on our streets by sick men & noone seems to be able to do anything about it. What's the point in giving millions of dollars to overseas causes when this problem is happening right under our noses.
Yes, that's exactly what it is THE RAPE OF YOUNG GIRLS BY MEN WHO do not even care that they're under age.

What on God's earth is the matter with the laws on raping children.
Why can't the police do something to these sick men?

There is a city councillor in Manukau called Candy that you need to talk to about this problem.

I am determined our vote will not go to George Hawkins in the next election.

Thank you TV 3 you still are the best in this country & thank God for reporters like on STAKEOUT who is not afraid to report on real issues.
That guy deserves a medal. Thank you.
