Na Ratou Mo Tatou - They Did it For Us, Anzac Day 2007
A ground breaking 18 hour Anzac Day television event on Maori Television.
From the coming up of the sun until well beyond the going, we laughed, cried and listened as hundreds of ordinaryNew Zealanders shared their extraordinary experiences.
Hosted by leading broadcasters Wena Harawira and Judy Bailey, Na Ratou Mo Tatou - They Did it For Us brought together an eclectic mix of interviews with veterans, stories, documentaries, live studio korero and coverage of the day's events from around the country - and at Gallipoli.
In the evening, at the end of the formal part of the day, we dimmed the lights and turned up the volumeto remember our forebears through music, song and kapa haka with performances by Whirimako Black, Hinewehi Mohi and Don McGlashan and readings by Ilona Rodgers and Rawiri Paratene.
In the hours and days following the programme, Screentime and Maori Television were inundated with positive feedback from the public and critics alike. We'll be back in 2008 with another very special Anzac Day broadcast.
