Crime Scene

In New Zealand over 3500 sexual offences are recorded every year, in the past 12 months child abuse submissions to Auckland’s Starship Hospital are the worst on record and each week in New Zealand there are 5 cases of kidnapping and abduction.

Presented by Greg Boyed, Crime Scene brings the public to the crime scene to help police solve a series of related sexual attacks that has put a city under siege. We revisit the scene of a botched abduction, and seek your help in solving a series of crimes committed in New Zealand over recent weeks and months.

Crime Scene takes a closer look at child abuse, looking for answers and ways to stamp out this national tragedy. We get an insiders account of street gangs in New Zealand, and find out just who is ruling your neighbourhood.

Criminal profiling is critical in the fight against crime. In this edition of Crime Scene we explore the forensics used to solve cases and take a look into the mind of one of New Zealand’s most notorious serial rapists.

While crime poses a threat to everyone there are extraordinary acts of bravery committed by members of the public and emergency services that save people from becoming victims. Crime Scene tells the story of a hero whose action saves the life of a young child and potentially many others.

Crime Scene will once again put the spotlight on crime and ask the New Zealand public for information via telephone, text and email. It will also look at current crime around the country, as well as provide useful information on keeping safe.

Once again the 0800 Crime 1 line will be active for you to ring in and help the police in their battle against crime.
